Our client required a secure web application to provide mental health therapy so that patients and therapists situated anywhere in NYC could get health care quickly and easily. The client approached Tech Exactly intending to develop a robust web application with HIPAA Compliance to expand therapy practice online and to safeguard the data of the patients.
We set out to build a HIPAA-compliant platform that would protect patients’ health-related data while also making virtual counselling sessions highly convenient by connecting them with top therapists in NYC with a single click via audio and video chats.
Before beginning the web app development process, it was critical to conduct research on the desired audience and the features that would make the app unique and secure. The three major variables to consider were convenience, accessibility, and security. We were well-versed in HIPAA standards and how they applied to the therapy app. Before beginning the design and development process, our team conducted extensive market research.
In this period of development, the user experience (UX) team planned the interaction between design elements and the User interface (UI) architect to create an eye-catching overall look and feel of the app and ensure making appointments was easier.
We developed a functional prototype that validated the functionality, and presumptions and additionally assisted in the scope of work. We implemented features like registration for users and doctors, and online consultation booking with various types of counseling. The development team implemented technical safeguards such as data encryption, and access controls to ensure the app is secure and compliant.
Software testing was conducted to check app usability, compatibility, security, and performance. At this stage, user approval testing was done to determine if the application functions as intended for the desired users or not. The development team conducted a risk analysis to identify potential security threats to the app and its users.
